REACH OUR YOUTH (ROY) SCHOLARSHIP
HURON COUNTY
General Information:
Huron County ROY has established a Scholarship of $500-$1000 that is available to assist a mentee or mentor high school graduating senior(s) or a recent graduate(s) (includes G.E.D.) who desires to pursue full-time academic work by attending an accredited college, university, or technical college. The intent is to help with a student’s first year expenses. However, depending on the number of applications submitted in any given year, consideration may also be given to mentee/mentor college students beyond their college freshman year.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be in their senior year of high school or have received a recent high school diploma / G.E.D. (Consideration may be given secondly to a past mentee/mentor of no more than four years, currently attending an accredited college, university, or technical college.)
- Applicant must be actively involved in ROY as a mentee or as a volunteer mentor for a minimum of six (6) months. Preference will first be given to current youth (mentees) and mentors.
- Applicant must demonstrate the acceptance or the intent to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.
Application Process:
- The following application is to be completed by the applicant.
- A letter of acceptance or a narrative of the applicant’s intent must accompany the completed application. This document must identify the college or university (with address) and the date/term that applicant will start classes.
- Completed applications must be returned by May 1, 2026 to:

Scholarship Selection Committee: The selection committee will be comprised of members of the Huron County’s ROY Board of Trustees. All applicants will be notified in a timely manner as to the Scholarship results.
